With springtime comes a riot of colour to the rolling hills of the North Downs. Rapeseed fields flash their hazmat yellows; bluebell woods blind with effervescent blues & purples; verdant greens scream from every bud, each day a new triumph of change.
In many ways, it's a chaotic collage of rebirth as everything gathers itself in this orchestrated symphony of life. Even the weather seems overwhelmed; one minute balmy and summerlike, the next minute dumping marbles of ice on a baffled landscape.
As a photographer, understanding your local area's nuanced seasonal changes is imperative if you're to capture the best that your doorstep has to offer. The more I shoot, the more I understand. The longer I spend in each 'scene', the deeper the communion with the land. As with anything in life, the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.
