The weather’s been poor for the past few days, but this morning I headed down to The Warren at Folkestone to see what I could shoot at Sunrise. I can’t believe how quickly the days are drawing out! All of a sudden, a 6 am arrival on location is almost too late for the light.
That being said, this morning’s sunrise was perfect. There was little in the way of raging colour to the sky, instead, it was cool, muted, peaceful and extremely calm, with just the odd cloud on the horizon, so I set about encapsulating that feeling through the photos I took … and came away happy with a really good set of images.
What the cloud on the horizon did was to delay the harshness of the light, which prolonged the time I had on the beach to dream up interesting compositions. The only real challenge on such a calm morning was the incoming tide. It’s always more of a challenge when it’s coming your way rather than receding.
